Wednesday, 14.4.2010
9.30 am: Opening Greeting, Prof. Martin Roth, Director-General
10 – 12 am: Panel I: Introduction
• Self-presentation of the participants
• Presentation of short statements about the future of cultural institutions (brainstorming)
12 -1 pm: Lunch break
1 – 3 pm: Panel II: Discussions in work groups
• The role of cultural institutions like museums in a future world
• How can museums contribute to international understanding?
• How does a cultural institution influence my own life?
3 – 3.30 pm: Break
3.30 - 5 pm: Summary of the results and continuation of the discussion
• What do young people expect of museums?
• How do the changes in our daily life challenge a museum?
• How should a museum in future be like?
6 pm: Visit to the exhibition „State of the Art since 1560“

Thursday, 15.4.2010
10 am – 1 pm: Design of concrete visions for cultural institutions
1 – 2 pm: Lunch break
2– 4 pm: Panel discussion with senior experts
5.30 pm: Visit to the Old Master’s Gallery

Friday, 16.4.2010
10 am: Preparation of the resolution
Afterwards: Visit to the exhibitions at the Dresden Palace

Saturday, 17.4.2010
3 pm: Inauguration ceremony „State of the Art since 1560“, presentation of the resolution
7 pm: Concert at the Semperoper Dresden

Additional information:

The congress will take place at the Dresden Palace (Residenzschloss), 1st floor (Hans-Naadler-Saal). The best entrance to use would be Sophienstrasse/Bärengartenflügel (across from: Kempinski/ Taschenbergpalais).
